Samsung confirmed launch of Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Fold 2 in 2020

Samsung has just confirmed  the Galaxy Note 20 series and the Galaxy Fold 2 will launch later this year in second half. While the report primarily revolved around financial figures, it also revealed certain interesting information as well, especially related to the highly anticipated handsets mentioned above.
The ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic has thrown the entire planet into disarray, and as such, countless product launch dates are now up in the air. Apple was initially expected to unveil its 2nd-gen iPhone SE at an event in March, but the launch was reportedly pushed back several weeks due to the health crisis. But despite potential supply chain issues and lack of demand, phone makers are pushing ahead with plans to launch flagship phones this year, and on Wednesday, Samsung doubled down on its commitment to launch more phones in 2020.

Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 price, specifications

The foldable smartphone, allegedly dubbed as Samsung Galaxy Fold 2, is expected to be a refreshed version of the original Samsung Galaxy Fold from last year. The Fold 2 is rumoured to flaunt the same design as its predecessor, but with foldable glass and other structural improvements. It’s tipped to feature a 120Hz refresh rate, 7.59-inch internal display that bears with 1,689 x 2,213-pixel resolution and a punch hole for the selfie camera in the top right corner. The phone’s cover display will reportedly be 6.23-inch tall with 819 x 2,267 pixels resolution, centre-aligned punch-hole, and standard 60Hz refresh rate.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 is also expected to come with S-Pen support for easy manoeuvring on the screen, 64MP triple rear camera, Snapdragon 865 chipset with 5G SoC, and minimum 256GB storage variant. The phone is said to weigh 15 percent less at 229gm than the original Fold which weighed 263gm. The Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 price will allegedly be around $1,880 (approx Rs 1,42,000).

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series specifications

In contrast, the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series is rumoured to be powered by Snapdragon 865+/ Exynos 992 SoCs (depending on the market). Apart from this, the lineup, including Samsung Galaxy Note 20, Samsung Galaxy Note 20+, and Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, is said to retain a similar design as the Galaxy S20-series. They are expected to feature a centre-positioned punch-hole Dynamic AMOLED display, high 120Hz refresh rate, beefy battery with fast wired and wireless charging, and S-Pen support.
